Durham Young Friends Youth Group (middle and high school) meets monthly on the third Friday. This year we have been exploring other faith communities in Maine and what it means to follow the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality and stewardship (sustainability). We work on raising funds for the child we sponsor at the Kakamega Orphan project in Kenya. Our annual events include Rally Day breakfast making, Harvest party/campfire, Wreath-making, Easter activities, Children’s day celebration and Family Campout at the ocean.
The Durham Junior Young Friends Group (elementary age) meets monthly on the first Sunday. We have been creating a documentary about the people of Durham Meeting.
