Quakers (Friends) began worshipping together in Durham, Maine in 1775. The earliest Meetings for Worship were held in homes. Friends built their first Meetinghouse on our current site in 1790, and (after that one burned) another in 1800. The current (third) brick Meetinghouse was built in 1829.
