\nPete Sirois, a Pax Christi member from Madison, and I lobbied our elected representatives after attending Ecumenical Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. We were part of a group of 750 clergy and faith leaders from many denominations witnessing for a faithful budget, immigration reform and reductions in military spending.
\nI also presented a workshop on \u201cEffective lobbying of state and local government\u201d and participated in several discussions of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture’s video “Torture in our Backyard.\u201d Maine’s efforts to reduce the use of solitary confinement are a feature of that film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
