At the October Monthly Meeting for Business, Durham Friends Meeting approved a recommendation from Ministry and Counsel that we continue as a semi-programmed meeting but without a part-time pastor.<\/p>\n
The six of us were appointed by the Monthly Meeting at that same Monthly Meeting for Business as an ad hoc committee \u201c<\/em>to develop a job description for a stipend position to address pastoral and other needs. The committee will explore alternative models to help us discern what might work best for us. The entire community is asked to hold in our hearts the concerns that we have heard for pastoral care, confidentiality, spiritual nurture and outreach.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n This first report from the Ad Hoc Committee we intend to be a basis for discussion<\/strong> among members of the Meeting. As requested, we present a few \u201calternative models\u201d for consideration.
