Durham Friends <\/strong>Woman\u2019s Society Meeting Minutes 5.19.2025 Hybrid Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present: <\/strong>Dorothy Curtis, President,  Nancy Marstaller, Treasurer, Susan Gilbert, Secretary, Joyce Gibson, Kim Bolshaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cards: <\/strong>For Friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program and Devotions: <\/strong>We took turns reading from Blueprints, \u201cStory About My Experience – God Still Speaks\u201d by Dr. Gladys Bunyasi of Kenya. Scripture – Psalm 46:10. Dr. Bunyasi\u2019s son began experiencing convulsions and was diagnosed with epilepsy which  did not respond well to medication.  It was discovered that the boy was being bullied at school. The medication was stopped, and with prayer and faith, the convulsions ceased. Dr Bunyasi believes that through the miracle of her son\u2019s recovery and his continuing successful life, God has spoken to her family.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treasurer\u2019s Report: <\/strong>We have $105.58 in the account. Nancy will send $55. gained from the sale of Martha Sheldon\u2019s knitted hats to New Beginnings. We decided that of this years\u2019 plant sale proceeds, half will go to the Good Shepherd Food Bank, the rest to scholarships at Ramallah School and school fees for girls in Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes:<\/strong> Susan read the 4.21.2025 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tedford Meal<\/strong>: Team A will prepare the June 2 dinner. Kim Bolshaw is contact person (207) 808-3007. Durham Friends provide dinner for Tedford House on the first Monday of each month. Contributions of prepared food or money for the Team to buy food for Tedford are always welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next Meeting: <\/strong>Monday, June 16 at 7 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Business: <\/strong>Our annual plant sale has been set up and we made our first sale! It  will continue for 2-3 weeks, unless we run out of plants more quickly. Feel free at any time during the sale to bring perennials or seedlings you can donate and label them. There are pots available in the horse shed if you need any. PROCEEDS: Plan to peruse the plants for something you might like. As usual, we will ask for donations, which will be used to support charitable work. Any questions? Spring Has Come!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crocuses and buttercups<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are peeping through the sod;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And rows of bluest hyacinths<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And beds of pansies nod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trees are dressed in fleecy green,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And some in pink and white;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winter\u2019s gone, and all the buds <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burst forth to our delight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thank God for the cheerful spring,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For sunshine and for showers,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For birds that sing their gleeful songs,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And outdoor playtime hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
