John 1:9<\/p>\n

<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master\u2019s business.\u00a0 Instead I call you friends, for everything that I learn from my Father I make known to you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

John 15:15<\/p>\n

It\u2019s Easter!\u00a0 The Eternal Christ is revealed anew!\u00a0 It is not only the mystics and poets who share in this\u2026 we all do.\u00a0 The word \u2018eternal<\/em>\u2019 has more than one meaning: it means both the Light of God that has been with us since the 1st<\/sup> day of creation and \u2018eternal\u2019<\/em> means a single moment in time that has particular quality \u2026 it is a Presence full, Light filled moment.\u00a0 George Fox & John Woolman share such moments often in their Journals, as do Whittier, Wordsworth and Elizabeth Vining in their poetry.<\/p>\n

Light filled eternal<\/em> moments are available to us all; but sometimes I think that the mystics and poets describe them too well.\u00a0 So well that when we ordinary folks experience these sweet and simple moments, the heart lifted Light filled moments, we tend to discount them.\u00a0 Somehow our own moments don\u2019t quite measure up.\u00a0 Most of us when asked: \u201cSo when was your last experience of the Eternal<\/em>?\u201d \u2026 will shake our heads doubtfully \u2026 and wonder \u2026 wonder if we are valuable enough \u2026<\/p>\n

But Easter is here \u2026 and though we may have only fleeting glimpses of the resurrection \u2026 the Eternal Christ Light within \u2026 the love of Jesus that is alive and always with us. When we honor these \u2018eternal<\/em>\u2019 moments and understand them to be our spiritual sustenance .\u2026 our \u2018soul food\u2019 .\u2026 gifts of God \u2026 blessings \u2026 we will begin to notice them more and more often.<\/p>\n

So, let our prayer this season be for that other kind of wonder \u2026 a prayer of noticing \u2026 Let us gaze, oh God, upon all your creation with wonder \u2026 seeing everywhere your Eternal Presence.<\/p>\n

Thus, our relationships \u2013 with God and with each other \u2013 will deepen and grow.\u00a0 Eternal<\/em> Presence filled moments awaken us intuitively and emotionally to God and to each other.\u00a0 They resurrect us.\u00a0 So, look for and notice with wonder your glimpses (no matter how humble) \u2026 for it is by their Light that we are refreshed and made whole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
